Country
CA
Container
Serum in red top or serum separator
Specimen
0.5 mL serum
Description
It can be used as a supportive test in dogs in the diagnosis of hypothyroidism. Elevated TSH concentrations combined with low T4 values are consistent with hypothyroidism in dogs. TSH can be used to confirm hyperthyroidism in cats with gray zone or high normal T4 concentrations. TSH concentrations below the limits of detection of the assay combined with a high normal T4 and appropriate clinical signs would be consistent with hyperthyroidism.
