CT510
Results
1-2 Days
Country
CA
Container
Serum in red top or serum separator
Specimen
0.5 mL serum
Description
Elevated TSH concentrations are consistent with primary hypothyroidism when combined with low T4, FT4, and the appropriate clinical signs. It is not a highly sensitive test for hypothyroidism in dogs, and as many as 1/3rd of hypothyroid dogs will have a normal TSH concentration. Normalization of TSH levels in response to treatment indicates adequate thyroid hormone supplementation.
