Trypsin-Like Immunoreac Canine cTLI

Code
CT230
Results
2-4 Days
Country
CA
Container
Serum in red top or serum separator
Component
Trypsin-Like Immunoreactivity Canine cTLI
Specimen
0.5 mL serum
Description
The TLI test is the preferred test for diagnosing exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in dogs. This test measures only trypsin and trypsinogen that has entered the bloodstream directly from the pancreas. Pet should fast for 8-12 hours prior to sampling because of mild increases in trypsinogen concentrations that can occur post-prandially. Trypsinogen is not absorbed from the intestinal tract. Hence, the intestinal disease does not affect cTLI results. This test is species-specific for dogs.

TSH

Code
CT510
Results
1-2 Days
Country
CA
Container
Serum in red top or serum separator
Specimen
0.5 mL serum
Description
Elevated TSH concentrations are consistent with primary hypothyroidism when combined with low T4, FT4, and the appropriate clinical signs. It is not a highly sensitive test for hypothyroidism in dogs, and as many as 1/3rd of hypothyroid dogs will have a normal TSH concentration. Normalization of TSH levels in response to treatment indicates adequate thyroid hormone supplementation.
