Richard is 1981 graduate of Tuskegee University where he completed his DVM degree, along with two other bachelor degrees. After an internship and instructorship in pathology at Tuskegee University, he attended Texas A&M University where he completed a three year residence in anatomic pathology. He returned to Tuskegee University where he served as an assistant professor of pathology for three years. In 1989 he moved to California working as a diagnostic anatomic pathologist in multiple veterinary diagnostic laboratories, and started his own biopsy and full body necropsy service. He joined Antech as an anatomic pathologist in 1998. Richard taught clinical pathology and parasitology in the Mt. San Antonio University veterinary technology program from 2003 - 2005. In 2005, Antech partnered with Western University School of Veterinary Medicine to help train rotating veterinary students in pathology and necropsy. Richard has served as the director of the Western University/Antech Student Extern and Pathology Training program since its inception. Richard’s primary area of expertise is small animal full body necropsy pathology. He is the full body necropsy pathologist at Antech Fountain Valley. He published a small animal necropsy book in 2009 (“Color Atlas of Small Animal Necropsy”). He resides in Eastvale, CA, with his wife Cynthia and his son Miles where they enjoy the many delights of southern California living.
