Michael earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2010. He spent his first two professional years practicing mixed animal medicine in his home state of North Dakota. Adventure brought him to New York City where new experiences in small animal practice and shelter medicine were afforded, including leadership roles at Animal Care Centers of NYC and the ASPCA Community Medicine Department. Before beginning his anatomic pathology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2018, Michael was also volunteering with the Wildlife Conservation Society’s pathology team located at the Bronx Zoo. He started with ANTECH Diagnostics in 2021 shortly after finishing his residency and becoming board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. He works from his current home in Philadelphia, PA. Michael’s professional interests include general surgical pathology of both production and companion animals, ocular pathology, reproductive pathology, and exotic/wildlife pathology. His previous veterinary experiences invigorate his desire to share accurate and timely diagnoses with clients. His connection to the clinical side of veterinary medicine further ignites his excitement to discuss challenging cases with veterinary colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and getting outdoors whenever possible. Other members of his family include their rascally dog, Maggie Mae, and two sweet cats, Twiggy and Federalli.
